The World makes me cry
But my tears are not public
Rivers...
They often go unseen
And make no difference
To the World...
...But sometimes I make the World cry
Tears well up in the eyes of mountains
Turning dry hollows into brimming pools
Trickling through slender lashes of grass
They moisten the dimpled cheeks of the hills
They slide between the bony features of the landscape
Swelling the fleshy earth
But the World cries too much
It overwhelms me with it's emotional rivers
When I observe it's watery face
My vision is distorted
